Would anyone be interested in a service that helps you choose a unique name for your baby?

I have a real talent for this and I am interested in starting a consulting business as a personal adviser to help expecting couples decide what their child will be named.

Would anyone be interested in a service that helps you choose a unique name for your baby?
I would not pay anyone to name my child. It is far too personal and there are so many resources out there.

Besides what if you charge them and they don't pay you because they say they don't like the name you chose and then they end up using the name afterall without you knowing, you end up working for free.
Reply:It sounds interesting, but whether or not I'd use it depends on what you charge. If I can find a good name via the many free resources and communities out there on the Internet, then I am not going to pay a premium for a consultant. But I don't know, maybe there are people out there who may be willing to pay (ahem, those who are rich and have a lot of extra cash lying around). It depends on the type of people you are trying to reach and their socioeconomic backgrounds. E.g. your "target audience."

Instead of baby names, maybe you could consider starting a service to help new business start-ups come up with the perfect name for their company (or even products)...along with their taglines and domain names. You might make a little more money going in that direction because a business person who has a great idea for their business but needs a little help figuring out the right name may see hiring you as an investment in their company's future prosperity.
Reply:i don't think i would be interested just because i really think it should come from me but i think that would be a Great idea and if you were to ad some thing to it like maybe some counseling and family planing and some nursery planing

hope this helps you With your life cant wait till you go after your dream or maybe have kids of your own have fun with your life

Reply:Sorry, no takers here. There are plenty of FREE info out there for couples to use. And I am sure that after constantly hearing from friends and relatives about what they should name their kid, they probably don't want to add anybody else to the mix. Why pay somebody for something that you can get for free on Yahoo Answers?
Reply:HEEEYYLLLLL no

its better if they choose the name themselves. I have a couple questions on here just to get some input but there is NO WAY ON EARTH i will let a stranger name my baby. y would i pay for your service when i can just go on here to get an idea for free?

u say u have a real gift..its NOT that hard to name some one elses kid.
Reply:Haha I dont thik you'll get much business honey. Besides some of the random people on here that let strangers name their kids most people have set ideas on what they want to name their children. Thats cool you like names though...maybe you could be like a name historian or something instead hehe.
Reply:Not remotely. If I wanted a "unique" name I'm perfectly capable of shutting my eyes and hitting the keyboard randomly. If I want a non-unique, actual NAME, I'll use a baby book or the internet, or just a name I already love.
Reply:Honestly, no. Part of the thing with having a baby is being able to look into your history, as well as through baby books, and picking the perfect name. I've had more fun doing that than if someone suggested names to me.
Reply:I wouldn't let any one else chose the name of my baby.

well, i'd want the help of my partner but i wouldn't let them chose a name that i hated and vice versa.
Reply:No, would not be interested in that "service". I could just spend $4.99 and go get a baby book. Or God forbid I go to the library and borrow the book for free.
Reply:That depends on what you mean by 'unique'..

I love lots of unique names, particularly names from mythology.
Reply:no, i do not think it takes any special talent to name a baby. it is a very personal decision.
